MIS Support Officer

We are looking for an IMS Support Officer to join our team, providing comprehensive support and promoting the effective use of Management Information Systems (MIS) within schools. This role is ideal for someone who is proactive, customer-focused, and has experience with MIS systems such as SIMS, Arbor, or Bromcom.

Day to Day of the role:

  • Provide full support for MIS systems within customer sites.
  • Staff the helpdesk and answer customer support calls.
  • Respond to software problems using remote support, on-site visits, telephone, or email communication in accordance with the helpdesk service.
  • Monitor support calls and proactively identify common problem areas and potential resolutions.
  • Offer first-line support for the Data Services Team.
  • Guide and support customers' senior officials and administrative staff in using software to support Management Information.
  • Advise on good working practices for data organisation to comply with local and national governing bodies' requirements.
  • Provide training, support, and documentation for data returns and ensure accurate data uploads.
  • Identify and recommend changes to meet customers' evolving data management needs.
  • Prepare and manage customer training materials for MIS application modules.
  • Take lead responsibility for specific MIS modules and evaluate new and updated software.
  • Install and upgrade MIS software, coordinating new systems and informing users of system changes.
  • Own MIS application or system problems and see them through to resolution.
  • Participate in Adhoc/Consultancy Projects within the Team.
  • Work with software suppliers to stay updated on software developments and issues.
  • Keep abreast of new technologies that enhance school information management.
  • Collaborate with team members, providing backup and support as needed.
  • Promote the service portfolio to current and potential customers.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of SIMS, Arbor, or Bromcom MIS Software.
  • Proactive approach to IT support and customer service.
  • Experience in a school environment or IT system support.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and run customer training sessions.
  • Responsive to company needs and adaptable to new requirements.
  • Ability to explain technical resolutions in simple terms.
  • Willingness to learn and develop skills.
  • High degree of customer service for all queries and interactions.
  • Methodical approach to troubleshooting support requests.
  • Valid driving licence and vehicle for travel to customer sites.
  • GCSE English and maths.
