Junior Retoucher

Our client, a leading fashion business, is seeking a talented Junior Retoucher to join their in-house Studio & Production Services department. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring that all post-production and photography requirements are executed to the highest professional standards, aligning with the brand's vision.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and shoot a variety of products, including jewellery.
  • Retouch a wide range of product types, including still life, mannequin, flat lays, and on-model images, meeting strict daily post-production targets.
  • Retouch images to an exceptional standard in both quality and quantity.
  • Ensure colour consistency and correction on images, guaranteeing they accurately represent the product.
  • Name and maintain digital asset files, following workflow procedures with structured organization and uploading images to web servers.
  • Crop images and maintain file size specification guidelines.
  • Perform quality assurance on all images.
  • Meet daily and weekly deadlines, demonstrating initiative and creativity within the team.
  • Carry out ad hoc duties for the studio.
  • Collaborate with other departments involved in the studio process to ensure product issues are flagged and retouched before distribution.
  • Adhere to post-production guidelines and approved ways of working.
  • Maintain the digital asset library and the integrity of folder structures.
  • Check that all files adhere to asset naming conventions.
  • Support with team administration tasks, coordination, and workload when required, including during periods of annual leave.
  • Assist the Senior Photographer on set when necessary.

Skills and Experience:

  • Strong and confident communicator, both written and verbal.
  • Excellent working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop is essential.
  • Proven retouching techniques and a keen eye for detail.
  • Self-motivation to meet deadlines and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Strong understanding of colour correction and correction.
  • Proven ability to work efficiently on a high volume of images to meet deadlines.
  • Good knowledge of photography and lighting equipment.
  • Polite and professional working manner.
  • Excellent punctuality record.
  • Excellent organization and communication skills.
  • Education qualification to degree level in photography or equivalent.
  • Experience in retouching and shooting product photography.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, friendly studio environment dealing with still life, mannequin, and flat lay apparel photography.
  • Minimum 2-3 years of proven experience working in an e-commerce studio.

Salary: £25,000 - £30,000 dependent on experience.
