Elevation Accountancy and Finance is excited to partner with an established energy business in the Doncaster area to recruit an Accounts Assistant to join their team.
The finance team is one of the core pillars of the business, spanning multiple teams and driving performance across all areas. The primary objective is to create value by integrating financial insight into the decision-making process and ensuring robust controls throughout the organisation.
The Accounts Assistant will play a proactive role in maintaining accurate ledgers and managing payment collections from customers. They will also contribute to the continuous improvement of financial processes and controls across the business. This role is ideal for someone looking to develop and gain skills in other areas of finance and analysis, as the company strives for continuous improvement in all teams and departments.
Given the varied nature of the business and the wide range of projects requiring support, the successful candidate will need to demonstrate flexibility, adaptability, and a proactive attitude. We are looking for an ambitious individual for this role.
Main Responsibilities:
- Credit control responsibilities and day-to-day debtor management
- Collecting payments from customers over the phone
- Reporting on debtors and identifying actions to resolve any resulting issues
- Contributing to finance processes
- Developing financial skills to ensure team flexibility
- Day-to-day transaction processing of the bank, sales ledger, and purchase ledger
- Ensuring accurate billing and reporting on errors in purchase invoices
- Other ad hoc responsibilities as the role evolves
Skills and Attributes:
- Strong communication skills essential
- Credit control experience essential
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel essential
