Mechanical Design engineer
Job Specification
- Produce 2D CAD and 3D Inventor drawings, including system, general arrangement, sub-assembly, and detail part drawings as needed for special purpose machinery.
- Apply design for manufacture principles to new and existing product lines. Create Pipe and Instrumentation Diagrams and Bill of Materials to support project execution.
- Maintain technical construction files and collaborate with Project Managers to resolve issues promptly.
- Identify approved parts for equipment use and communicate complete Bill of Materials to the Purchasing Department to meet project requirements.
- Deliver design information in a timely and sequential manner to meet production requirements.
- Develop and implement a skills and competency framework, along with individual training plans for the Draughting team.
- Provide design support to Manufacturing, Sales, and R&D departments.
Mechanical Design engineer
Skills/Experience/Qualifications
- Mechanical Engineering Apprenticeship or HNC/HND or BEng/MEng in Engineering.
- Engineering background in a mechanical design office with special purpose machinery.
- Experience in a general engineering plant & equipment, process, bulk or bespoke material handling industry.
