Support Worker and Driver / Employee Access Assistant who has a full, clean driving licence, basic administration skills and excellent listening and communication skills is required to support a member of staff to fulfil their role at a well-established Charity.

SALARY: £22,363 per annum + Excellent Benefits

JOB TYPE: Full-Time, Permanent

WORKING HOURS: 35 Hours per Week, Monday to Friday - Flexibility to work outside of core hours with occasional overnight stays is required for this role

JOB OVERVIEW

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Support Worker and Driver / Employee Access Assistant that has a full, clean driving licence, basic administration skills and excellent listening and communication skills.

Working as the Support Worker and Driver / Employee Access Assistant you will be driving and supporting a visually impaired Vision Rehabilitation Specialist on a day-to-day basis, enabling them to carry out their duties efficiently and effectively.

As the Support Worker and Driver / Employee Access Assistant you will form a close and trusting working relationship with the supported person. Having a person-centred approach, good communication skills and flexibility and understanding are extremely important.

DUTIES

Your duties as the Support Worker and Driver / Employee Access Assistant:

  • Drive the person supported in order that they may fulfil the requirements of travel in their role
  • Provide sighted assistance to the person supported, including orientation and sighted guiding in unfamiliar environments, or other assistance as required
  • Note take and read documentation to the person supported as required and handle information in a sensitive manner, maintaining confidentiality applying the data protection act where necessary
  • Assist with basic data input on Microsoft Office including Excel and Word, maintain Outlook calendar and maintain accurate and confidential records
  • Locate information from a variety of sources, including the intranet, print and internal systems

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

Essential

  • A full, clean driving licence with access to a vehicle
  • Ability to drive the person supported in order that they may fulfil the requirements of travel in their role in and around West Dorset, Wiltshire, Hampshire & the Isle of Wight
  • An understanding of Visual Impairment and the impact on day-to-day activities
  • Good interpersonal skills are essential as the role will require a close working relationship with the person being supported
  • Flexibility to work regularly outside of core working hours to enable travel to and support during client visits
  • Computer literate with a good knowledge of all Microsoft Office packages and a willingness to learning new systems
  • Evidence of dealing with confidential issues sensitively and with total integrity
  • Eligibility to work in the UK
