Principal Temporary Works Coordinator/Designer

Location: Bridgwater

Salary: £55,000 - £85,000 per annum

Are you ready to play a pivotal role in the UK's landmark Hinkley Point C nuclear power station project? We are seeking a dynamic Principal Temporary Works Coordinator/Designer to join our team. This role is crucial to ensuring the safety, quality, and compliance of all temporary works on-site.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage all aspects of Temporary Works in accordance with BS 5975: 2019 and client requirements.
  • Collaborate closely with stakeholders to develop and deliver effective Temporary Works solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with CDM Regulations 2015 and other relevant legislative standards.
  • Mentor and develop a team of Temporary Works Supervisors (TWSs).
  • Participate in workshops to facilitate technical information flow across contractors.
  • Identify and mitigate potential issues related to Temporary Works.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

  • Extensive knowledge of construction techniques and Temporary Works.
  • Strong understanding of BS 5975: 2019.
  • Experience leading teams and managing complex projects.
  • Familiarity with CDM Regulations design obligations.
  • Excellent organisational, delegation, and communication skills.

Additional Qualifications and Experience (Essential):

  • Minimum 5 years' experience as a Lead Temporary Works Coordinator in an Engineering Construction environment.
  • Proficiency in relevant design and engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, STAAD.Pro).
  • Incorporated Engineer (IEng) or Chartered Engineer (CEng) status with a recognised engineering institution.
  • CITB certification as a Temporary Works Coordinator.
  • NEBOSH or equivalent health and safety qualification.
  • SMSTS or equivalent site management qualification.

Desirable:

  • Confined Spaces certification.
  • Experience working on the Hinkley Point C site.

  • Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Business acumen with the ability to drive and manage change.
  • Self-motivated with excellent time management skills.
  • High level of IT literacy.

Working Pattern and Location:

  • 37 hours per week.
