Location: Fleet, Hampshire

Salary: Competitive + Benefits (dependent on experience)

Job Type: 37.5 hours per week, Permanent

Apprentice Security Analyst – The Role:

We are currently seeking motivated, innovative, and dedicated Junior Security Analysts to join our team in Fleet UK to ensure the growth and development of our Cybersecurity Services Team.

Apprentice Security Analyst – Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct or assist with cybersecurity assessments, risk analyses and phishing simulations to identify threats and security weaknesses to our systems
  • Create detailed reports, including findings and recommendations
  • Collaborate with senior analysts and team members for guidance
  • Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), keeping assessments and reporting consistent
  • Master specific security tools, learning console and dashboard navigation and operation
  • Stay updated about the latest cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, and attack techniques
  • Continuously improve skills through self-study, training, and mentorship from senior analysts
  • Maintain clear and effective communication with team members and stakeholders
  • Document lessons learned from assignments, sharing insights to enhance incident response
  • Be adaptable and ready to learn and grow within the team

Apprentice Security Analyst – You:

Experience and qualifications:

  • Graduated with a 2:1 or a 1st in a technical subject, Good A-levels or equivalent
  • Experience with IDS/IPS, vulnerability scanning, web application penetration testing tools
  • Knowledge of networking protocols, operating systems, and security technologies
  • Familiarity with security tools like firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, antivirus software, and vulnerability assessment tools
  • Knowledge of ISO 27001, NCSC Cyber Assessment Framework, Cyber Essentials Plus, OWASP

Skill profile:

  • Passionate about IT and cybersecurity, follows industry developments
  • Strong IT literacy (hardware and software)
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities for IT issues
  • Time management and organisation skills for prioritising and balancing dynamic workloads
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Effective teamwork and collaboration with cross-functional and global teams
  • Independent self-starter who meets deadlines without intensive supervision
  • Eager to learn and build a career with us
