About the Role: Our client, a large government customer, is seeking a dedicated Safety Engineer to join their dynamic team. This position is based in Bristol and offers the flexibility of mostly remote work, with occasional site visits required. Requirements are scheduled to run until 31/03/2025

Team Overview: The DGM Delivery Team (DGM DT) is essential in supplying General Munitions to all services, playing a critical role in the success of military operations worldwide. The team comprises approximately 120 members, including military and civilian staff, such as ammunition technical experts, engineers, safety and environmental managers, project managers, and more. DGM DT manages around 630 product natures grouped into product families, with approximately 170 Safety Cases covering these product families.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Support the DGM RTG plan by reviewing and updating Safety and Environmental Case Reports (SECRs) as required across the DT.
  • Review and update Hazard Logs.
  • Support the development of the certification plan and engage with the Regulator.
  • Support Project Safety and Environmental Panels (PSEP) and OME Safety Review Panel (OSRP) submissions to attain OME Assurance Statements (OAS).

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Experience in Safety Management within DE&S.
  • Incorporated Engineer or equivalent demonstrable experience.

Desirable Skills and Experience:

  • Knowledge and understanding of OME.
  • Risk Management experience.
  • Awareness of Commercial and Project Management in Procurement.

Additional Information:

  • DGM adopts Smart working principles. The vast majority of this task can be completed working from home with only occasional site visits required.
  • Candidates must be eligible to work in the UK.
