We are seeking a Design Engineer to join our client's design and development team, focusing on current and future brake products. This role is ideal for an inventive individual with a passion for engineering and the ability to deliver innovative and cost-effective solutions.

Day to Day of the role:

  • Complete work to meet project schedules and lead design/development teams to ensure high-quality engineering output.
  • Innovate and develop novel product solutions that are both effective and cost-efficient.
  • Prepare and conduct presentations to customers and suppliers, ensuring clear and impactful communication.
  • Manage budgets effectively to meet specified requirements.
  • Provide technical support as needed and participate in Continuous Improvement activities.
  • Maintain strong liaison with internal and external customers and suppliers, including conducting Technical Reviews and Project Design Reviews.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Mechanical Engineering degree
  • Proficiency in CAD and project planning tools.
  • Minimum of five years of design experience in a design and manufacturing environment.
  • Inventive nature with a proven ability to conceive and develop novel product solutions.
  • Leadership skills with experience in guiding small teams of engineers across multiple/global sites.
  • Understanding of lean manufacturing concepts.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Good understanding of vehicle dynamics/geometry and ability to perform basic hand calculations.
  • Knowledge of the latest FEA techniques related to component optimisation and casting flow analysis.
