Salary: £26,007 per annum
12 Month FTC - Maternity cover, 35 hours per week (Part-time considered)

Our client a well-respected and reputable professional membership body based in Prestwick, Scotland is currently looking for an Events & Sponsorship Officer

The role of Events & Sponsorship Officer

The purpose of the role is the planning and management of the organisation's events and to work with internal and external stakeholders and corporate partners to promote event and sponsorship opportunities and maximise delegate attendance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the day-to-day planning and administration of national events, ensuring all event related tasks are completed.
  • Work closely with the Communications team to create content to promote event and sponsorship opportunities and increase delegate attendance.
  • Promote exhibitor, advertising and sponsorship packages for our Exhibitions, Conferences and Communications
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with event venues, suppliers & exhibitors, and use negotiation skills to develop new customers and partners.
  • Provide tailored sponsorship and event packages and contracts to suppliers.
  • Identify opportunities to increase revenue from previous National events and monitor progress with the Finance Manager in relation to event targets and budgets.
  • Provide on the day support during events to ensure smooth running of all event activities.
  • Ensure all post-event Communications and activities are completed.
  • Manage Commercial Partnership contacts, maintaining and building upon the relationships with partners throughout the year.
  • Monitor Commercial Partnership activities, and ensure all planned activities are completed successfully and according to individual agreements.
  • Answer incoming sales calls and enquiries.
  • Keep up to date with the sector and the needs of our membership.
  • Build on and develop our membership support offering, working with the Membership Support Manager to identify areas where commercial relationships can existing members
  • Develop new commercial leads.
  • Additional tasks as and when required.

Essential:

  • Experience within a partnerships/account management or events background.
  • Experience within sales of conferences, summits, or similar events.
  • Experience within Sponsorship and/or Delegate sales.
  • Experience generating new business and ensuring repeat business from key accounts.
  • Experience of delivering first rate customer / client service
  • A keen attention to detail
  • A proactive approach and ability to take the initiative.
  • Ability to progress multiple initiatives and manage personal workload.
  • Ability to negotiate.
  • Self-starter and conscientious
  • Excellent communication, including written and verbal skills.
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to deal with a varied and often demanding workload.
  • Strong IT skills - Office/Word/Excel
  • Presentable, outgoing, and socially confident.
