Electronic Technician – Assembly

- Full-Time hours 39 Hours: Mon – Thurs: 8:00 – 17:00 (30 mins lunch) Fri: 8:00 – 13:00 (no lunch)
Reed Engineering are currently working with a leading firm in the electronics manufacturing industry to recruit an Electronic Technician – Assembly. This role involves electrical and mechanical assembly of Galley products, including electrical sub-assemblies, conducting product testing, completing relevant test documentation, and performing fault diagnostics on both final assemblies and lower levels. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with engineers from the test and engineering departments.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Carry out product testing for performance, safety, and compliance in accordance with Acceptance Test Procedures (ATP).
- Conduct root cause investigations, providing analysis and recommendations.
- Analyze test data and generate test reports.
- Fault find and repair products to customer and company requirements.
- Ensure all test equipment is properly maintained and within calibration schedules.
- Assemble major and minor mechanical assemblies and carry out electrical sub-assemblies.
- Read engineering drawings and assemble products to quality requirements.
- Perform soldering to IPC standards.
- Promote and support continuous improvements and assist with A3, 8D, and other process improvements.
- Promote best practices to ensure ease of manufacture and testability.
- Ensure adherence to the Company Quality Management System.
- Help create and maintain a safe working environment and observe published Health and Safety procedures.
- Ensure a high standard of housekeeping is maintained.
- Support and promote good working relationships with other team members and departments.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- HNC in a relevant subject (essential); HND in a relevant subject (desirable).
- Experience with electronic test equipment such as Oscilloscopes, multimeters, and automated test equipment.
- Experience of working within the Electronics Manufacturing industry.
- Able to work in a fast-paced, varied, and demanding environment.
- Proficient on Windows operating system, and Microsoft Office suite.
- Ability to work independently whilst collaborating in a team environment.
- Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail and time management.
- Exceptional planning and organization skills.
- Excellent communication skills and customer service skills.
