Gleeson Recruitment Group are supporting a well known manufacturing business in their search for a Finance Manager to join their Gloucester based team. In this pivotal role, you will manage the finance function across multiple UK sites, ensuring the timely delivery of management accounts and support the UK Financial Controller in maintaining accurate accounting records. You will play a key role in identifying opportunities for efficiency and improvement within our reporting processes.
We're seeking a qualified accountant ready to take a step up into a role offering autnomy and progression. You'll be confident preparing management accounts and CIMA/ACCA qualified (or finalist), with experience in manufacturing being key. Salary is up to £55,000 + enhanced benefits and a half day on a Friday.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and mentor the transactional team, ensuring accountability and high performance.
- Prepare and maintain Profit and Loss accounts, Balance Sheet reconciliations, and fixed asset registers.
- Oversee Working Capital management, including setting up review processes and calculating KPIs.
- Set up weekly/monthly efficiency variance and price variance reporting.
- Prepare, review, and submit monthly payroll information.
- Handle Intercompany accounting, including raising monthly invoices and reconciliations.
- Submit VAT returns, ECC Sales, and Intrastat reports.
- Contribute to the financial stability of the company by maintaining accurate records and providing timely financial information to assist management in key decision-making.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and manage financial risks to protect the company's assets and reputation.
- Act as the first point of contact for finance-related enquiries from both internal and external sources.
- Ensure accurate accounting for foreign offices and coordinate funding requirements.
- Support the UK Financial Controller with various reporting needs and collaborate with other finance team members.
About You:
- CIMA/ACCA qualified accountant with experience in a manufacturing or similar industry.
- Strong technical management accounting skills and a deep understanding of financial processes and controls.
- Proven track record of process improvement and a proactive, hands-on approach.
- Advanced Excel and IT skills.
- Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and collaborate effectively with key stakeholders.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work alongside various internal departments and external companies.
