We are seeking a Financial Accountant with manufacturing experience to join a reputable global engineering business. This critical role involves working with the Director of Finance and managing a finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for company consolidations, managing group audits, financial modelling, and issuing monthly financial reports among other duties.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Managing a team of finance staff and overseeing their work.
  • Performing company consolidations and managing the group audits.
  • Developing financial models to support decision-making processes.
  • Preparing and issuing monthly financial reports to stakeholders.
  • Conducting monthly bank reconciliations and maintaining the Timelog System.
  • Handling quarterly VAT returns, EC Sales lists, and monthly Intrastat.
  • Completing Sage payroll on a weekly basis and managing BACS transfers.
  • Reconciling expenses for Directors and maintaining the cheque journal.
  • Overseeing petty cash and ensuring accurate financial records.
  • Reconciling and closing out monthly reports for Sales and Purchase Ledger.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Degree in Accountancy or a related discipline.
  • Proven leadership skills and self-motivation.
  • A ‘can do' attitude and the ability to interact with a multifunctional team.
  • Competence in assessing workloads and committing to realistic timelines.
  • Strong analytical skills to investigate and address non-performance processes.
