Job title: Bookkeeper/Semi Senior Accountant
Location: Bury
Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week with flexibility to work from home at least 2 days per week
Salary: £25K - 30K DOE
Our well established client is seeking a skilled and dedicated Bookkeeper or Semi Senior Accountant, ideally AAT qualified, to join a dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be proficient in preparing year-end accounts, management accounts, and have extensive experience with Xero and Sage bookkeeping. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work with a variety of clients and help them leverage the latest technologies in accounting and bookkeeping.
Responsibilities:
Accounts / Management Accounts Duties:
- Prepare FRS102a and FRS105 year-end accounts.
- Prepare management accounts.
- Draft corporation tax computations.
- Knowledge of personal tax returns would be an advantage.
Outsourcing Duties:
- Perform bookkeeping, including monthly reconciliations and monthly journals.
- Work extensively with cloud-based software, primarily Xero (75%), Sage (20%), and QuickBooks (5%).
- Embrace digital tools and add-on apps to enhance business processes, beyond traditional bookkeeping methods.
- Set up and manage bank feeds.
- Provide support and training to clients on software usage.
- Prepare and submit VAT returns.
- Handle clients under the Construction Industry Scheme (CIS).
- Assist clients in transitioning from Sage to Xero.
- Ensure efficiency and organization, especially regarding timely VAT submissions.
Requirements:
- AAT qualification or equivalent experience.
- Proficiency in preparing year-end accounts and management accounts.
- Strong experience with Xero, Sage, and QuickBooks.
- Technologically savvy with a keen interest in digital tools and add-on applications.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong communication skills for client support and training.
- Experience with VAT returns and CIS clients is highly desirable.
