Job description

  • This is an excellent opportunity to join the commercial team as a Business Development Executive specialising in the Chambers Career Guides. The career guides team focus on two main offerings: Chambers Associate & Chambers Student, both of which are expanding into new markets.
  • As as Business Development Executive you will be responsible for existing accounts across both our Chambers Student and Chambers Associate Guides, as well as pitching new business leads. It will require a high level of sales acumen, retaining current spending, generating new revenue by upselling multiple Chambers products and prospecting new clients. The position will contribute effectively within a high-performing team environment whilst holding a full quota for your book of business
  • This a great opportunity for the right person and will involve some business travel, meeting many of the biggest law firms in the world, helping to grow and strengthen our already wonderful reputation within the legal careers space in the UK and the US.
  • We offer a higher-than-average earning potential with an uncapped commission structure, which is paid on a monthly basis (month after sale). We additionally organise non-contracted incentives (e.g. end of year trip for top performers) from time to time based on business requirements and possibilities
  • You will work flexibly; in our Fleet Street office together with the rest of the Sales team on Wednesdays and Thursdays, and normally from home the rest of the week. If you wish to work from the office any Mondays, Tuesdays or Fridays you can book a desk using the app.

Main duties and responsibilities

  • Prospect both existing and new business commercial opportunities within the Associate/Student guides.
  • Engage with the world's biggest law firms and meet senior marketing, talent and HR professionals over MS teams and face to face.
  • New business prospecting and conversion.
  • The Business Development Executive will manage set sales and revenue targets. 360 degree ownership of the sales process.
  • Relationship building, researching, pitching and closing deals.
  • The Business Development Executive will renew and grow existing accounts through targeted upselling of new products, utilising a consultative sales methodology (methodology training will be provided).
  • Work alongside the editorial team to grow presence in established markets and develop new products.

Skills and experience

  • Sales experience 3+ years (face to face preferable)
  • The Business Development Executive must have knowledge of legal markets (decision-making in law firms) and talent/HR data markets are advantageous.
  • Ability to own a sales cycle from start to finish, owning and exceeding targets
  • Proven pitch/presentation skills
  • Account management and New Business
  • Knowledge of the legal industry helpful but not essential
  • Good IT and organisational/time management skills
