Teaching Assistant

Are you a Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting children with additional needs? Have you worked as a Teaching assistant within a Special Educational Needs school or Autism base? We are looking for an experienced Teaching Assistant to work on a 1-2-1 and small group basis with children across Key Stages 2, 3 & 4 who have a primary diagnosis of Autism. The school require a Teaching Assistant who has a good understanding of Autism, can build rapport quickly with children of all abilities, and who can effectively manage behaviours on a 1-2-1 basis.

As a Teaching Assistant at this school, you will primarily be working on a 1-2-1 basis, supporting within the classroom. Staff are friendly and you will receive an abundance of support from experienced Teaching Assistants and Teachers. The school provides a nurturing environment for children who have been diagnosed with a range of complex learning needs, so experience in this area is vital. Ideally you will hold a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification, however SEN experience is vital.

Job Role:

  • Supporting children with additional learning needs
  • Having a good understanding of a range of SEN policies and procedures
  • Working as a Classroom Assistant / Teaching Assistant
  • Taking part in whole school activities and making school fun, engaging and beneficial for pupils
  • Breaking down barriers to communication and making school a fun and safe place to be
