Robertson Bell are supporting a medium-sized Central Government organisation to recruit an interim Head of Finance into their Birmingham-based office on a six to nine month contract.
This is a hybrid role that will require the successful candidate to be in the office two days per week.
The Head of Finance will be responsible for the following areas;
- Ensuring the finance business partnering team (5 in total) understand the priorities and objectives.
- Overseeing processes and procedures across finance, working with the Systems Accountant to identify and resolve issues.
- Owning the business case process, which is likely to require streamlining and adjusting.
- Reviewing the organisations financial plans, working closely with the SMT to understand the requirements of their business units.
The Director of Finance is seeking someone that has;
- Financial Management experience in a Public Sector organisation. Some Financial Accounting/Control experience would also be advantageous but not essential.
- Driven improvements to finance systems and processes.
- Managed staff, ideally in a changing or challenging environment
- A UK recognised accounting qualification.
