Do you have a passion for helping children and young people reach their full potential? Are you a compassionate, proactive individual with the ability to engage with children and families in their communities? If so, we are looking for a Children's Outreach Worker to join our dedicated team!

Prospero Health and Social Care works with vulnerable children and young people, supporting them in their homes, and communities. We are committed to improving the lives of children by offering practical, emotional, and social support to help them overcome challenges. Our outreach service aims to build positive relationships and support plans that empower children and families to thrive.

The Role:

As a Children's Outreach Worker, you will work closely with children and their families to provide support in various aspects of their lives. Your role will involve:

  • Visiting children and families in their homes, or other community settings.
  • Providing emotional and practical support tailored to the child's needs.
  • Building trusting relationships with children and their families to help improve their emotional well-being, behaviour, and overall development.
  • Assisting in the development of personal skills such as social interaction, education, and life skills.
  • Liaising with social services, and other professionals to ensure a holistic approach to care and support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting children in overcoming personal challenges, whether social, emotional, or educational.
  • Monitoring progress and keeping accurate records of interactions and outcomes.
  • Engaging with families to provide guidance, advice, and advocacy when needed.
  • Promoting safeguarding and ensuring the welfare of all children is prioritized.
  • Organizing activities, outings, or groups to promote positive engagement and development.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 1 years UK experience working with children, young people, or families in a support role
  • Must be able to provide 3 years professional references
  • Must have an enhanced Adult and Child DBS that is registered on the update service or be willing to process a new one with Prospero.
  • A genuine passion for helping children and a patient, empathetic approach.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust quickly.
  • Ability to work independently and manage a flexible caseload.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and a commitment to child welfare.
  • Flexibility to work in various community settings and travel as needed.
