Public Affairs Officer

Our client is an exciting organisation at the forefront of key developments in education and skills policy. Dedicated to advocating for equitable, high-quality education for all, their efforts focus on influencing policy and shaping public opinion to drive educational reform and advancements.

Working alongside colleagues in policy and communications, they are seeking a public affairs officer who will proactively promote awareness of key issues within the industry. This is a great opportunity to join their growing team and contribute to shaping the future of education.

We're looking for a campaigner with demonstrable influencing and effective engagement experience.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Keeping abreast of policy developments in the education sector, and provide timely analysis and insights to inform strategies and positions
  • Supporting the development and delivery of advocacy strategies to engage policymakers, educations and other stakeholders
  • Building and establishing strong working relationships with key stakeholders, positioning the organisation as a crucial player in important industry matters
  • Representing the organisation at internal and external events, including conferences and committees
  • Collaborate with the communications team to develop media strategies and promote the organisation's work

Candidate requirements:

  • A degree in Public Policy, Political Science, Education Policy, or a related field is preferred
  • Solid policy understanding and knowledge of Westminster's political process and systems
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills, demonstrating experience communicating with impact to diverse audiences
  • Highly-organised and self-motivated
