Maintenance Engineer
Location: Ashford
Job Type: Full time, permanent (days only shifts)
Salary: £27,000 - £40,000 DOE + Shift allowance
We are seeking a proactive and safety-conscious Maintenance Engineer to join our client's Maintenance department. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring all maintenance activities are carried out in compliance with company policies, procedures, and health and safety legislation. This role involves maintaining site machinery, executing planned preventive maintenance, and responding to equipment faults.
Day to Day of the Maintenance Engineer Role:
- Carry out maintenance activities safely and securely, adhering to company policies and health and safety legislation.
- Maintain site machinery and recommend ongoing improvements for efficiency and effectiveness.
- Execute planned preventive maintenance (PPM) and inspection tasks.
- Diagnose equipment faults, perform repairs, and return equipment to operational service.
- Manufacture spare parts using a lathe, milling machine, welding equipment, etc.
- Assist with the movement, installation, and repositioning of machines and equipment.
Required Skills & Qualifications of the Maintenance Engineer:
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in manufacturing maintenance/engineering.
- Previous machine tool experience.
- Recognised City & Guilds, Mechanical ONC/HNC qualifications.
- Electrical knowledge and education would be advantageous.
- Good communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to work unsupervised.
