The Scouts are looking for a Head of Assurance to join our Chief of Staff Department, a pivotal role that will drive our mission forward.

About The Scouts:

The Scouts have been a cornerstone of UK society for over 112 years, dedicated to empowering young people and volunteers across the country. Our Chief of Staff Department is integral to our ongoing transformation and is at the heart of change and transformation for the organisation. We are excited to introduce a new Assurance Team, which will add a fourth business area to our department.

About the Role:

As the Head of Assurance, you will:

  • Build the Assurance Function: Play a crucial role in establishing and developing our new assurance framework and team
  • Variety and Impact: Work on diverse and exciting assurance projects
  • Collaborate with Talented Colleagues: Engage with a wide range of skilled staff and volunteer colleagues.
  • National Impact: Your role will impact all four UK nations and contribute to the safety and well-being of young people and adult volunteers across the country and overseas.

As the Head of Assurance, you will:

  • Develop and implement the assurance framework for The Scouts
  • Establish a central Assurance Team at The Scouts (for the first time)
  • Oversee and manage a variety of strategic projects and initiatives
  • Work closely with various teams within the Chief of Staff Department to ensure effective delivery of objectives
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of our young people and adult volunteers.

As the ideal candidate you have experience in:

  • Proven experience in developing and implementing assurance frameworks, or working in assurance
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • A passion for the mission and values of The Scouts.

Face to Face Panel Interview will be held at Gilwell Park: 24 September
