Operations Supervisor Yard Transport

Minster is a leading building materials distributor in Northern Europe, is on the hunt for an Operations Supervisor Yard-Transport who's as passionate about great service as we are.

Hours - 7.00am - 5.00pm Monday to Friday

Minster, Unit 3 Oldbury Park, Popes Lane, Warley, Birmingham, B69 4RG

Key Responsibilities

  • Welcome customers to the branch and take an active interest in their projects
  • Managing team of including 4 Warehouse team and 5 Drivers
  • Producing monthly reports
  • Supporting the Branch Manager
  • Ensure your team are set up for the day, including delivery drivers with route planning
  • Help to process and prepare customer orders - load and unload customer and supplier vehicles using a forklift truck to minimise manual handling (training will be provided!)
  • Work as a direct support the management team and act as a keyholder when needed
  • Check incoming deliveries and report missing or damaged products
  • Maintain stock levels in both the warehouse and yard areas, carrying out regular stock counts
  • Keep the branch looking clean and tidy and make Health & Safety a priority
  • Work with colleagues to suggest opportunities for improvement

Required Skills and Experience

  • Previous industry experience preferred but not essential
  • Multidrop Operations Management is essential
  • Previous Warehouse and Transport supervision is essential
  • Counter Balance Forklift licence
  • A positive team player who is a strong and inclusive leader
  • A genuine enthusiasm for dealing with customers, and a 'customer 1st' attitude
  • Confident working both indoors and outdoors, with a strong focus on H&S
  • Commercial acumen
