Responsibilities - National Account Manager

  • Fully own and be responsible for their portfolio P&L, and deliver monthly, quarterly, and annual sales and profit targets through effective management customer relationships and the implementation of the channel strategy.
  • Create and implement a contact strategy for their portfolio, undertaking regular face-to-face meetings that are supported by structured agendas and organising and managing top-to-top sessions for key customers.
  • Communicate the commercial performance of the portfolio P&L and key drivers at regular and ad-hoc team meetings, to ensure appropriate action can be taken and relevant stakeholders are informed of key areas of success and areas of concern.
  • Identifying portfolio growth opportunities to create and manage Joint Business Plans for each customer within their portfolio to achieve commercial objectives of AOP, Sales, Volume, Market Share.
  • Work effectively and in collaboration with other departments (Marketing, Finance, Customer Service, etc) to implement joint business plan activities.
  • Understand in detail the sales performance at any time and take appropriate action to be the voice of the customer internally.
  • Use data such as PowerBI to demonstrate and present commercial performance of each customer within the portfolio and be able to make recommendations of how performance will be improved or maintained.
  • Anticipate, identify and react customer requirements, making recommendations to the Sales Channel Controller for commercial proposals across their portfolio that optimise opportunities and address identified issues.

What we need from you?

  • Experience at a similar level Account Management position, ideally within grocery accounts.
  • Experience of being targeted directly and being responsible for the commercial objectives of a customer of portfolio of customers, and strong track record of successful performance.
  • Preferably an understanding of the Pharmaceutical/Grocery Industry
  • Strongly data literate to be able to recognise opportunities and risks for their portfolio and recommend the necessary actions to achieve successful results.
  • Strong commercial acumen and analytical thinker, with the capability to engage at a senior level within and outside the company.
  • Experience in developing and delivering customer-focused Joint Business Plans.
  • Degree in a related subject, e.g., Business or Marketing would be advantageous
  • Project management experience
