Reed Further Education is delighted to be working with a Riding Centre in Greater Manchester to recruit Learning Support staff for their students.

What will a Learning Support Assistant do?

  • Provide high quality support for learners with SEND, Education Health & Care Plan (EHCP)and High Needs in and out of class.
  • Provide out of class support for identified learners with Social, Emotional & Mental Health (SEMH) needs, developing and implementing strategies and resources to support social, emotional and study skills.
  • Develop and set SMART targets with learners and their Tutors to track the progress being by learners working towards EHCP Outcomes and Preparing for Adulthood.
  • Work closely with the Learning Support Manager and Learning Support Coordinators to review support for learners based on assessment evidence, the EHCP and High Needs Funding, to put a staffing plan in place to meet individual needs within the curriculum area/s.

Requirements:

  • Willingness to work with and around animals, in particular horses.
  • Recent experience supporting young people, preferably within education.
  • Understanding and commitment to safeguarding.
