My client, an insurance firm based in Central London, is seeking to hire a permanent and full-time Junior Accountant to join their growing team.

This role will be based in their Paddington office, 2-days per week, and from home for 3 days.
Position Overview:
As a Junior Accountant, you will play a vital role within our finance department, reporting directly to two Finance Managers and a Financial Controller. This position encompasses various responsibilities, including reporting, financial accounting, and payments. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work closely with experienced professionals and gain exposure to a wide range of accounting activities.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting regulations and internal policies
- Participate in month-end and year-end closing processes, including reconciliations and journal entries
- Assist in the preparation of internal and external financial reports, providing insights and analysis on financial performance
- Contribute to the maintenance of general ledger accounts and subsidiary ledgers
- Assist in the processing and verification of payments, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and analyse financial data for reporting purposes
- Support the Finance Managers and Financial Controller in ad-hoc projects and financial analysis tasks
Requirements:
- Previous experience in accounting or finance
- Strong understanding of financial accounting principles and practices
- Proficiency in MS Excel and other accounting software
- Excellent analytical skills with a keen eye for detail
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and take on new challenges
