We provide social rented homes, shared ownership, and sheltered housing. We develop new homes too and are part way through an exciting programme to deliver another 250 homes by 2025. We are looking for an experienced Caretaker to be part of the Estates Services team providing an efficient estate cleaning service, ensuring our buildings communal areas are maintained in a clean and tidy condition to Gateway standards. You will play a crucial role in ensuring a safe, clean, and well-maintained environment for residents and visitors.

Your duties will include but not be limited to:

  • To deliver an effective cleaning service ensuring compliance with health and safety requirements and established standards.

Duties to include:

  • to sweep, vacuum and mop floors
  • to dust ledges, clean wall tiles
  • to clean windows in corridors
  • to wash hand rails and woodwork
  • to sweep external communal areas and car parks
  • to pick up litter, sweep bin area and disinfect bin chambers
  • to clean communal entrances, stairs, outside ledges and entrance doors
  • Conduct regular inspections of the estate to identify and address any issues related to cleanliness, safety, and general maintenance. Ensure communal areas, such as hallways, corridors, gardens, and parking lots, are clean, tidy, and free from hazards.
  • Resident Assistance and Customer Service: Foster positive relationships with residents and address their concerns or complaints in a timely and professional manner
  • To attend regular team meetings, briefing sessions for staff and staff conference.
  • Collaborate with property and maintenance teams, and communicate any recurring maintenance issues or emerging trends to relevant stakeholders.
  • Health and Safety Compliance: Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and guidelines. Report any potential hazards or safety concerns to the appropriate teams.

Experience and Skills

  • Experience in a caretaking role, preferably in a residential or estate setting.
  • Familiarity with health and safety regulations and practices related to estate services.
  • Good communication and customer service skills to interact with residents and address their concerns professionally.
  • Proven experience in caretaking, maintenance, or handyman roles, preferably in a residential or estate setting.
  • Familiarity with health and safety regulations and practices related to estate services and maintenance.
  • Good communication and customer service skills to interact with residents and address their concerns professionally.
  • Knowledge of proper handling and storage of cleaning supplies, chemicals, and equipment.
