Assistant Management Accountant

Full time permanent role - hybrid / flexible working with a mixture of office / home working

Mon-Fri only 0900-1730 - 37.5 hours per week

Role based in the Hassocks area. Due to rural and unique office location, it would be very beneficial to be a driver and have your own transport. The company operate a free shuttle service to and from Hassocks railway station for non drivers.

Salary £28000-£32000 per annum, depending on experience plus excellent all round company benefits

The role - Assistant Management Accountant

The purpose of the role is to ensure that all ledgers and cash books are well maintained, balanced and accurate, and the associated processes are performing effectively. Ensure all Management Accounts tasks are carried out in a timely and accurate manner.

Duties will include:

Preparation and production of month end journals including accruals and prepayments for management accounts

Preparing accurate balance sheet control account reconciliations for the management accounts to a year end standard

Responsible for maintaining fixed asset register and monthly depreciation.

Responsible for Expenses. Monthly reconciliation of costs and ensuring receipts are submitted for audit purposes and to ensure correct allocation of costs in multiple currencies.

Responsible for posting and reconciliation of sales invoicing to detailed sales reports.

Responsible for credit control on all sales ledger balances and resolving any queries promptly to ensure cash-flow is maintained.

Ensure Aged Debtors report balances to Nominal Control Account in the Balance Sheet

Responsible for checking and posting of currency purchase invoicing.

Working with the Management Accountant to ensure that the monthly stock and cost of sales position is accurately reflected in the Management Accounts.

Posting weekly currency payments to ensure Currency Bank Accounts reconcile with foreign exchange draw-downs.

Monthly Bank Reconciliations for GBP and foreign currency bank accounts.

Responding to internal and external customer or supplier queries

Assist the Management Accountant and Auditors in the year end audit and review process.

Liaise with Management Accountant to ensure all month end tasks have been carried out.

Participate in the monthly Management Accounts review

Experience, competencies and knowledge required:

Experience in Accounts Receivables/Accounts Payables/Cashbooks is essential

A Finance related degree background and/or an interest in undertaking an Accountancy qualification would be desirable but not essential (e.g. AAT or early studies of CIMA/ACCA)

A good knowledge of Microsoft Excel is essential, including V-LOOKUPS and Pivot Tables.

Knowledge of Access Dimensions accounting system would be desirable but not essential.

Proven ability to handle confidential or sensitive information.
