We are a specialist independent school for children and young people with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), praised by Ofsted in 2021 for outstanding pupil personal development and leadership. We are currently seeking a qualified Teacher with a robust knowledge of the curriculum to teach secondary aged pupils and deliver a highly personalised curriculum.

Day to Day of the role:

  • Teach children with ASD, encouraging progress and helping them to fulfil their potential.
  • Utilise knowledge of curriculum, assessment, and inspection requirements to support student learning.
  • Engage with children, young people, and their parents/carers both inside and outside the classroom.
  • Contribute to the overall programme of learning for each student to ensure progression.
  • Focus on pupil outcomes and progression, including learning outside the classroom.
  • Uphold the highest standards of safeguarding to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all children.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • A relevant teaching qualification.
  • Experience in classroom teaching and working with children who have ASD.
  • Interest in a particular area of learning or the curriculum.
  • Experience working within an ASD setting is highly desirable.
  • High degree of initiative and sound judgement when working with children and young people.
  • Effective communication skills with learners and their parents/carers.
  • Ability to manage behaviour with patience and sound judgement.
