We are a specialist independent school for children and young people with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), praised by Ofsted in 2021 for outstanding pupil personal development and leadership. We are currently seeking a qualified Teacher with a robust knowledge of the curriculum to teach secondary aged pupils and deliver a highly personalised curriculum.
Day to Day of the role:
- Teach children with ASD, encouraging progress and helping them to fulfil their potential.
- Utilise knowledge of curriculum, assessment, and inspection requirements to support student learning.
- Engage with children, young people, and their parents/carers both inside and outside the classroom.
- Contribute to the overall programme of learning for each student to ensure progression.
- Focus on pupil outcomes and progression, including learning outside the classroom.
- Uphold the highest standards of safeguarding to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all children.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- A relevant teaching qualification.
- Experience in classroom teaching and working with children who have ASD.
- Interest in a particular area of learning or the curriculum.
- Experience working within an ASD setting is highly desirable.
- High degree of initiative and sound judgement when working with children and young people.
- Effective communication skills with learners and their parents/carers.
- Ability to manage behaviour with patience and sound judgement.
