About the Role:

We are looking for an experienced IFRS 17 Technical Accounting Expert to join our client's team. This role involves providing expert technical accounting advice, developing Excel models, and supporting the implementation of IFRS 17.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Technical Accounting Advice: Provide IFRS 17 technical accounting advice and guidance.
  • Implementation Experience: Utilize practical IFRS 17 implementation experience.
  • Excel Modelling: Build and develop Excel models for accounting and calculations.
  • Transition Accounts: Prepare Transition Accounts.
  • Process Design: Design and support new processes, controls, and Working Day Timetables (WDT).
  • System Implementation: Design, implement, and test future state systems and solutions.
  • Programme Support: Support the wider FRC Programme.

Main Activities:

  • Provide IFRS 17 technical accounting advice and develop technical papers as needed.
  • Build and develop Excel spreadsheets for accounting and modelling calculations to identify data gaps and validate system outputs.
  • Support the execution of transition plans, including opening balances and comparative financial statements.
  • Assist with audit engagement requirements and respond to queries.
  • Support the implementation of FRC-related IT solutions, including the General Ledger, IFRS 17 Calculation Engine, and Sub-Ledgers.
  • Assist the Finance Function in testing activities and ensure timely resolution of issues.
  • Support the development and implementation of Accounting Rules, Chart of Accounts, ledger posting, and IFRS 17 disclosures.
  • Analyse data inputs/outputs from the Calculation Engine and General Ledger, ensuring outputs meet reporting requirements and recommending changes.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, including the FRC Delivery Partner, Auditors, and other internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure reporting solutions across the Finance function are fit for purpose in the rollout of IFRS 17.
  • Present or support presenters on financial reporting matters at training events.
  • Maintain a robust control environment in line with good practice and risk frameworks.
  • Provide administrative, logistical, and other support to the FRC Programme.
  • Perform other ad hoc tasks as required to ensure business readiness for IFRS 17, such as GL data cleansing, resolving data issues, and supporting data migration.
