We are seeking a dedicated Finance Controller to manage the Accounting & Finance department in the not-for-profit sector. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the company's financial operations and reporting on financial performance.

Client Details

Our client is a not-for-profit organisation in the educational sector based in Stonehouse. Our client is a leading independent school looking for a finance controller to join their finance team.

Description

  • Oversee financial operations and reporting.
  • Develop and implement financial strategies, budgets, and forecasts.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards.
  • Collaborate with other departments to streamline financial processes.
  • Prepare and present financial reports to stakeholders.
  • Implement strategies to improve financial performance.
  • Engage in ongoing financial risk management.
  • Coordinate and oversee annual audits and liaise with external auditors.
  • Ensure compliance with tax and regulatory requirements, including the preparation and submission of statutory VAT returns.
  • Managing a team of four.

Profile

A successful Finance Controller should have:

  • A qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
  • Proven experience in a finance role within the not-for-prrofit sector.
  • Strong knowledge of financial regulations and accounting processes.
  • Excellent analytical, decision-making, and leadership skills.
  • Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite.

Job Offer

  • An estimated salary of £55,000- £58,000
  • 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays.
  • A contributory pension scheme.
