If you answered yes to the above questions then we have the perfect opportunity for you! Long-Term Teachers are working with a number of special educational needs schools in Torquay and the surrounding areas. We are an independent agency that works with schools all across the South West.

We are looking to recruit hard-working, empathetic and resilient qualified teachers who wish to support young people with their social, academic and emotional development. Young people with SEMH needs may have experienced trauma or have high levels of anxiety. Therefore, you must be able to be patient and understanding of these needs.

We are looking for teachers who:

  • Have QTS or QTLS
  • Have excellent knowledge of special educational needs, particularly SEMH, and strategies to support young people
  • Empathetic, caring and positive attitude
  • Experience in schools
  • Confident in leading classes and managing behaviour

  • Educating students in various subjects and at different key stages
  • Creating a positive and engaging learning environment
  • Responsible for the safeguarding and wellbeing of young people
  • Communicate regularly with other staff members
  • Implementing special educational provisions (such as EHCP)
