Administrator - FULL OR PART TIME ROLE

  • Location: Near to Slough
  • Salary: £23,000 - £25,000 FTE

We are seeking a dedicated Administrator to manage administrative and financial duties for a family-run day nursery chain. This role is vital in ensuring the smooth operation of our nurseries, including maintaining relationships with children and families, handling financial tasks, and supporting our team.

Day to Day of the Role:

  • Implement policies and procedures to meet the Practice Guidance and Statutory Framework of the Early Years Foundation Stage.
  • Register children into the Nursery, conduct tours for parents, and maintain daily contact with children and families.
  • Prepare and issue invoices, collect fees, chase bad debts, and ensure secure handling of fee payments.
  • Maintain and update Nursery payment statements and perform regular financial reconciliation.
  • Keep all files accurate and up to date, ensuring they are kept secure.
  • Manage administrative staff records, including holidays, sick periods, and contracts of employment.
  • Initiate the monthly payroll with the third-party online provider.
  • Conduct online DBS checks for all staff.
  • Handle all correspondence and emails, and work with external agencies for recruitment or job advertisements.
  • Manage communication channels and social media outlets, ensuring a professional representation of the business.
  • Liaise with Local Authorities on funding, complete termly figures, and ensure timely funding claims.
  • Participate in OFSTED visits and support the maintenance of high standards and hygiene in the Nursery.
  • Undertake training as suggested by Manager/Directors for CPD.
  • Support other sites in case of staff sickness and attend or minute meetings as required.
  • Liaise with Nursery Managers to ensure locations are well-equipped.
  • Promote and support the safeguarding of children and young people, observing all policies and procedures.
  • Update Directors on current or ongoing issues and uphold the company's reputation at all times.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in administrative roles, preferably within an educational or childcare setting.
  • Strong organisational and financial management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work confidentially and professionally with various agencies.
  • Competency in using social media and managing online content.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding policies and procedures.
  • Willingness to undergo continuous professional development.
  • Must be prepared to undergo a criminal records check.
