We are proud to be recruiting for a junior buyer to continue their growth with our client who is looking for further support within their team. Our client is within packaging of various types, with customers in most industries, and they are looking for someone from a Procurement, Supply Chain or Account Management background for this role, ideally with packaging experience.
Based in Burton Latimer in Northamptonshire, the role has hybrid working so you would be expected in the office 2-3x a week after the initial training period, so offers strong flexibility.
The ideal candidate would be a developing Procurement or Supply Chain individual, or someone from Account/Category Management within Packaging or Corrugates. You would work in a collaborative manner, with strong communication skills and an attitude eager to learn.
You will also be IT proficient, across Microsoft Office and Excel especially, while experience dealing with RFI's, NDA's and other contract terms would be highly advantageous.
The role is looking to offer between £30,000-£35,000 per annum depending on your experience.
Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the Category Manager to agree buying strategy
- In conjunction with the Category Manager, prepare and send out enquiries, ensuring quotes are returned in the required template and timelines stipulated
- From receipt of enquiries, prepare a commercial summary with supplier recommendations for the category managers
- Make tactical decisions related to supplier selection, pricing negotiations. And focus on operational elements of supplier relationships
- Conduct professional presentations giving the category view and compelling offer for our products, expertise and service
- Assist with and help resolve any pricing or invoice queries, supply chain and internal sales problems that might arise on a day-to-day basis
- Ensure that the Group's Supplier Ethics and Trading policies and practices are monitored specifically ensuring supplier compliance
- Sourcing, selection, benchmarking and due diligence of products and suppliers
- Maintain key supplier information including contract details, pricing, product specifications, unit of measure and lead times
- Ensure all necessary reports are produced for all meetings and all communication is carried out effectively and in a timely manner
Ideal Candidate:

2+ Years experience within either one of
-
Procurement or Supply Chain background

Account/Category Management background within Packaging/Corrugates
-
Strong IT skills across Microsoft Office & Excel

Excellent Written and Oral communication skills

Experience with NDA's, RFI's and similar highly advantageous
