CNC Machinist - Roles & Responsibilities
- Programme, Set and Operate CNC machines to perform tasks such as drilling, grinding, milling, and turning on metal parts.
- Interpret and modify CNC programmes based on technical drawings.
- Conduct quality checks using precision measuring instruments to ensure components meet specifications and tolerances.
- Perform routine maintenance on machines, troubleshoot issues, and collaborate with the maintenance team for repairs.
- Select and install appropriate tools and attachments for the job, ensuring optimal machining conditions.
- Actively participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, reduce waste, and improve overall quality.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations and maintain a clean and organised workspace.
CNC Machinist - Skills & Experience
- Experience as a CNC Machinist (Miller or Turner) in a precision engineering environment.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and technical documents.
- Familiarity with various CNC machines, including mills and lathes, and experience with FANUC, Siemens, or similar controls.
- Strong focus on quality control with the ability to work to tight tolerances.
- Ability to diagnose and resolve machining issues quickly and effectively.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
