Position: Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) or Unqualified Teacher
Salary: £110 - £140 per day dependent on experience
Contract: Full-time via the agency
Start Date: September 2024

About Us:

TimePlan Education are supporting a dedicated and inclusive primary SEND school in the borough of Lewisham. They are graded outstanding by Ofsted and are committed to providing an exceptional education within a nurturing and stimulating environment.

The Role:

We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) or unqualified SEND Teacher to work with our SEND school in Lewisham. The successful candidate will work closely across 2 KS1 classes with a mix of children with ASD and SLD. The shortlisted candidate will work with teachers to support the delivery of high-quality education and care to our pupils. This role involves planning and leading learning lessons and activities, supporting individual students, and contributing to the overall development of the school community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in planning and delivering engaging lessons tailored to the needs of SEND students.
  • Provide one-on-one support to pupils, helping them overcome learning challenges.
  • Lead classes, group interventions and activities.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Support classroom management and promote positive behaviour.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and other support staff.
  • Monitor and record pupil progress and provide feedback to teachers and parents.
  • Participate in school events, staff meetings, and professional development opportunities.

About You:

  • Qualifications: HLTA qualification or equivalent.
  • Experience: Previous experience teaching children with special educational needs, preferably of primary age and working at Early Years level.
  • Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to adapt learning materials and strategies to meet the needs of individual pupils.
  • Attributes: Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children's learning and development.
