Role Overview

The company has experienced strong organic growth in recent years and, following a recent investment, is entering an exciting phase of expansion. To support this, the finance team is growing, and this Senior Finance Assistant role will play a key part in managing the company's transactional finance.

The successful candidate will take full responsibility for the company's transactional finance processes, working closely with the Finance Director.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing cash ledgers and performing reconciliations
  • Ensuring credit card transactions are posted and reconciled
  • Collaborating with the business to ensure accurate and timely invoicing
  • Liaising with customers to secure purchase orders and ensure prompt payments
  • Developing and maintaining strong working relationships with clients
  • Processing purchase invoices and ensuring approvals are in place
  • Posting purchase invoices, resolving discrepancies, and managing outstanding items
  • Preparing and coordinating payment runs for approval
  • Handling bank payments and facilitating bank authorisations
  • Reviewing and processing manual expense claims
  • Maintaining finance mailboxes and team chats, responding to queries promptly
  • Supporting the wider finance team with ad-hoc tasks (e.g. audits, ONS returns)
  • Fostering positive working relationships within the business

Skills and Experience

  • Proven experience in transactional finance
  • A solid understanding of the role of finance functions within a business
  • A track record of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Initiative, and teamwork abilities
