Teaching Assistant requires to provide 1-2-1 support for a Key Stage 2 child with Social Emotional & Mental Health needs. Are you a teaching assistant who has previous experience supporting SEMH or challenging behaviours? The school is a specialist setting that provides an excellent education for children who have struggled to engage with mainstream education. As a teaching assistant you will be providing 1-2-1 support, managing behaviours and helping this pupil to engage in lessons. The class teacher is amazing and will be there to provide you with any additional support you require. You will join a supportive team of teaching assistants who are all committed to making this school a nurturing and welcoming environment for children who have faced barriers to education. This role requires experience as a teaching assistant, classroom assistant, or LSA.
Job Role:
- Providing tailored support for a child with SEMH needs.
- Working closely with an experienced team of teaching assistants to provide the best possible support.
- Understanding a range of SEMH and Special Educational Needs.
- Supporting the child on a 1-2-1 basis, delivering intervention where required.
- Managing behaviours, helping the child to engage with lessons.
- Recording progress of the child and reporting to the SENCO.
