Senior Accountant

Citadel Source are delighted to be partnering with an innovative SME in Gloucestershire, to recruit a Senior Accountant to act as the number 2 to the Head of Finance, supporting across their portfolio of companies. The role will comprise of some technical accounting, whilst giving oversight and exposure to month-end process and supporting non-finance SLT.

About you

This role would suit someone who has made the transition from practise into industry and is looking for a bigger role with more responsibility and broader exposure across the business.

The role

In this role, you will oversee both financial and management accounting, as well as own the P&L for the parent company's largest subsidiary, offering broad exposure and access to senior stakeholders across the business, like the Group CFO. You will liaise with auditors and act as the financial accountant for the group, ensuring they achieve full financial accounting and tax compliance, as well as be responsible for management accounting for one of the larger subsidiaries. You will have the opportunity to hone both your financial and management accounting skills; while gaining all the relevant exposure to you'd need to set you up for a bigger role in the future.

As the Senior Accountant, your role will include but not be limited to:

  • Business partnering with C-suite and Heads of department.
  • Preparation and reporting of management accounts to numerous stakeholders, ensuring accounts are completed and managing control processes.
  • Complete all financial compliance tasks for the group of subsidiaries, including statutory accounts, tax, etc.
  • Direct line management of 2 members of the finance team.
  • Manage and oversee the audit process for the group of subsidiaries, ensuring it is completed ahead of statutory deadlines.
  • Preparation of monthly P&L variance analysis and commentary for the group of subsidiaries.
  • Management accountant for the largest of the subsidiaries, as well as dealing with any finance matters for them and ensuring any financial regulatory requirements are met.
  • Provide tailored and clear management information to business stakeholders to aid in the optimisation of business performance.
  • Preparation of rolling forecasts and annual budgets.

Requirements

  • ACA/CIMA/ACCA qualified
  • Practise background with industry experience
  • Experience with management and financial accounting
