Compliance and Data Security Officer

My client, a full-service thriving Law ?rm who are member of Ally Law are currently recruiting for a Compliance and Data Security Officer to join their busy office based in Lincon Inn, Holborn. This is a 12 month FTC.

9.30am - 5.30pm Monday to Friday with additional hours when required

Office based (with some flex on 2-3 days)

The main focus for this role is to support the Head of Risk and Compliance in the delivery of the firm's regulatory and governance compliance with an emphasis of data protection and security.

To support the wider Risk & Compliance Team in onboarding clients, conflict checking and involvement with Risk projects.

The ideal candidate would have a minimum of three years data compliance experience and all round compliance knowledge.

Other responsibilities will be as follows:

  • Being the main point of contact for data and information security issues.
  • Responsible for maintaining the data retention policy and maintaining the information retention management process.
  • Reporting breaches and assessing the requirement to report to the regulators and escalating such issues to the HoD.
  • Where necessary being able to cover for the client on-boarding team in undertaking on-boarding checks of clients.
  • Undertaking conflicts checks with a high degree of accuracy and escalating issues as necessary to the Head of Risk & Compliance.
  • Assisting members of the Risk & Compliance team with research projects and day-to-day compliance with AML regulatory matters as they arise.

To be considered for this FTC, you must have the following experience and skills:

  • Having worked in a professional services environment or financial services
  • Have knowledge of Data Protection Authority and General Data Protection Regulation.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the UK Money Laundering Regulations
  • A process driven approach with the ability to escalate issues to the Head of Risk & Compliance where necessary
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Good time management skills to prioritise workloads
  • Excellent verbal, written and face-to-face communication skills
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to prioritise
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge of the Solicitors' Accounts Rules a benefit is not essential but desirable.

This role is office based however the finance team currently come into the office 1-2 days a week so there is flexibility with working hybrid.
