Your new company has been established for over 5 years, operating in commercial refurbishment and fitting out market. They are specialist subcontractors. Their services include Drywall Partitions, Suspended Ceilings, Fire stopping, Acoustic Plaster, Glazed Partitions, & Timber Door Packages. The company has enjoyed rapid expansion and an impressive increase in turnover that has created a position for a Designer to support the project management team in their office. This is part of a strategy to in-source the technical management of drawings and provide a robust response to their customers on variations and site-based changes that need to be made.
Your new role is the production of drywall and ceiling construction details, including management of the design process. Specific tasks are to act on his own initiative to develop technical drawings; comply with current CDM Regulations and applicable laws; attention to detail when developing drawings / designs; will require the individual to take a degree of ownership for individual projects and be able to produce detailed information to the required level in a timely manner; they will be expected to attend site meetings to coordinate and resolve any technical issues at various stages of the implementation process. Also, to produce comprehensive drawing packages; undertake site surveys as required; liaise with suppliers and manufacturers; attend site / project meetings; build relationships with contractors/architects as part of the team; produce take-off schedules to enable procurement of materials and prepare architectural tender/construction information.
What you'll need to succeed is UK-based experience of creating 2D & 3D detailed CAD drawings for the construction industry. Experience in Interior Fit out or any other Architectural discipline with attention to detail. Experienced in the use of AutoCAD, CADDuct, Inventor or AEC and 3D CAD. Working knowledge of planning/building control issues/regulations. Min 2-5+ years' experience in a commercial office fit-out environment in a similar role. Ability to build relationships, internally and externally. Team Player & Flexible approach. Proactive and accountable attitude. You will live in Surrey and need to have your own transport and the head office is not located near any transport links and is in a rural location. You will have excellent listening and analytical skills and be able to communicate professionally at a high level with the senior staff in the organisation.
What you'll get in return is a competitive salary from £30,000 to £50,000 based on experience. Other benefits include pension, 23 days per year plus bank holidays and the opportunity to gain experience & training and gain more responsibility with this family run SME in an idyllic rural part of Surrey.
