This role is pivotal in driving the growth and expansion of the client base, focusing on new business acquisitions across general insurance.

The Opportunity:

We are seeking a dynamic and entrepreneurial New Business Account Executive who thrives in identifying and securing new client opportunities. This role is ideal for an individual with a proven track record in business development within the insurance industry and who excels at building and nurturing long-term client relationships. While there is a small book of business to inherit, the primary focus will be on proactively generating new leads, closing sales, and contributing to the company's continued growth and success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Proactively generate new leads, close sales, and establish long-term relationships with new clients, driving the growth and expansion of the client base.
  • Manage and develop client relationships, ensuring a deep understanding of client needs and delivering tailored insurance solutions.
  • Achieve sales targets, negotiate favourable terms with clients and insurers, and contribute to the overall profitability of the business.
  • Represent the company at industry events, build a strong network of potential clients, and establish valuable industry contacts.
  • Ensure adherence to FCA regulations, industry standards, and best practices in all aspects of the role.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • A strong academic foundation, preferably with a degree in Business, Finance, or a related field.
  • Industry certifications from the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) such as Cert CII, Dip CII, or ACII are highly desirable but not essential.
  • Familiarity with FCA regulations and industry best practices.
  • A commitment to ongoing professional development, including staying updated on industry trends and regulatory changes.
  • A valid driver's license and access to a vehicle for frequent client travel.

Experience & Skills:

  • Significant experience within the insurance sector, particularly in broking or underwriting.
  • A proven track record of generating and converting new business leads within the insurance sector.
  • Extensive experience in managing and developing client relationships, with a strong focus on meeting client needs.
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve sales targets and effectively negotiate with clients and insurers.
  • Experience in representing the company at industry events and building a robust network of potential clients and industry contacts.
