ROLE: Support Officer - Construction

LOCATION: Horley, Surrey, Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm, Fully Office based however hybrid will be considered
SALARY: Circa £30k - £35k DOE

THE COMPANY

This company based in Horley, Surrey have experienced significant growth in recent years which has created the Support Officer position. This company is within the construction industry working with a variety of clients including commercial, residential and housing. This organisation will support career growth and development.

THE JOB

This exciting Support Officer job is a newly created role to aid a growing business and will be based at their offices in Horley. As Support Officer the main purpose will be to support the work winning team's functions by managing the day-to-day control of the tender delivery and project launch

process by managing the workflow.

Your duties will include:

  • Lead the tender delivery process and all actions associated with the successful delivery of this
  • Facilitate the handover to operations process on successful tender and all actions associated with it
  • Compiling tender opportunity log from online portals and keeping this up to date monthly
  • Assist in obtaining up to date quotes for materials and finding equivalents/alternatives to aid project profit.
  • Assist in the production and checking of commercial scheduling for managing material and labour spends.
  • Assisting live projects by gathering live information for the construction teams including uploading / downloading project docs and monitoring where necessary.
  • Facilitating in the creating and managing the BRO within the TAP whilst identifying and risks and opportunities to the business. Keeping up to date with industry trends on improving our ability to diversify within the current market.
  • Ensure a high level of health and safety is upheld, keeping up to date with mandatory learning such as DSE & Manual Handling, modern slavery, GDPR, anti-bribery and corruption.
  • Identifying and informing the project teams of any health and safety risks within the BRO.
  • Assisting the project team with creation and compilation of O&M manuals
  • Work to the approved business documents and BMS, raise improvement ideas when identified.
  • Understand an overview of our quality compliance system so this can be incorporated into final bid documents for review by the Compliance Team.

  • Previous experience within a similar role, preferably within the construction organisation
  • Passion for delivery and can-do attitude.
  • Organisational, Priority, Planning skills.
  • Effective communicator.
  • Ability to engage with supplier's, clients & key stakeholders of the business.
  • Operate with a sense of urgency and problem solving.
  • Proficient in Excel, Word and Adobe
  • Proficient in Outlook and Teams
