My client is looking to recruit an experienced Buyer to join their team. As the company is continually growing, this will give you an amazing opportunity to grow with the business.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and building a variety of product ranges for resale on their website and other e-commerce channels across Toys, Activity and Arts & Crafts.
The role requires excellent analytical skills, strong market knowledge, and the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers.
This role plays a crucial part in ensuring they have the right products, sourced at the right price, to meet our business goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Product Sourcing: Identify and source products in line with company objectives, market trends, and customer demand.
- Supplier Management: Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure high-quality, cost-effective products and services.
- Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels to ensure sufficient stock is available to meet sales demands without excessive surplus, always considering supplier lead times.
- Market Analysis: Conduct market research and analysis to identify potential new products, emerging trends, and competitive pricing strategies.
- Quality & Compliance : Working closely with the quality and compliance team to ensure goods arrive in a timely manner and are compliant for the market and in line with regulatory requirements.
- Data Analysis: Utilise data to make informed purchasing decisions including platforms such as Amazon Marketplace and Google Trends. Experience in using Helium 10/Jungle Scout or other product research platforms would be advantageous.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with QA, logistics and marketing to ensure full product lifecycle is considered and sales are maximised. .
Key Requirements:
- Experience: 3+ years of experience in a wholesale/retail buying or product development role, preferably in a retail or wholesale environment.
- Toy category & licensed knowledge is advantageous
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Excellent analytical and decision-making abilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), training on Navision will be given.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
- Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of market trends, sourcing, and supply chain management.
Other Requirements:
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed.
