Formed by the merger of three prominent hospitals, our procurement function operates as a center of excellence, managing a significant £370m non-pay expenditure across various departments.

Job Summary:

As a Category Lead, you will provide strategic and operational procurement support, ensuring governance, compliance, and risk minimization. Your role involves leading high-profile negotiations, managing category and contract implementation, and driving cost-saving initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Procurement: Provide proactive procurement services and lead complex negotiations for high-value contracts.

Policy and Governance: Develop and enforce procurement policies to ensure compliance with relevant regulations.

Financial Management: Draw up and monitor budgets, identify saving opportunities, and support budget holders.

Leadership and People Management: Lead the Procurement Leadership Team, manage staff, and support professional development.

Category and Contract Management: Implement and oversee category management processes, ensuring service efficiency and cost savings.

Supplier and Stakeholder Engagement: Develop strong relationships with suppliers and stakeholders to optimise procurement outcomes.

Performance Monitoring: Track procurement team performance, ensuring alignment with key performance indicators and operational excellence.

Essential Skills and Experience:

Proven experience in procurement leadership within a largeorganisationn.

Strong negotiation skills and expertise in managing high-value contracts.

In-depth knowledge of procurement regulations and best practices.

Excellent leadership and team management abilities.

Financial acumen and experience in budget management.
