Instrumentation Operations Technician - Rugby / Midland

Salary: £39,488 to £46,456

Are you a multi-skilled problem solver whom others can rely on? If so, we're looking for someone like you! Our client is seeking an Instrument Technician to join our team. In this role, you'll be responsible for the installation, inspection, commissioning, operation, repair, and maintenance of various safety, control, measurement, and fire and gas systems, alongside other operational duties onsite.

Key Responsibilities:
Participate as part of our Operations Team, acting as a site controller to issue permission documents and formulate isolations.
Support the construction and commissioning of new assets on the system.
Oversee and inspect work carried out by others, including supporting capital projects.
Maintain and protect the high-pressure systems in our compressor stations and above-ground installations, which power long-distance gas pipelines across the National Transmission System.
Travel to various site locations and training courses for competencies as required.

Qualifications and Skills:
Completed an apprenticeship or other recognized training scheme.
Hold a BTEC National Certificate or equivalent City & Guilds NVQ/SVQ Level 3 in Instrumentation, Control Systems, or a related discipline.
Experience with PLCs, RTUs, detection equipment, pressure gauges, and rotating machinery.
Industry experience in FMCG, broader utilities, military, or aviation.
Knowledge of health and safety practices, with a CompEx certificate being desirable.
