company providing a wide range of services to the Defence industry, and high-profile clients. Due to team & project growth an opportunity has arisen for a
Graduate Mechanical Design
Engineer
to join on a permanent basis.
You must be eligible for SC clearance. Please only apply if you are a British Citizen and have been living in the UK for more than 5 years
Key Responsibilities:
- You will assist and liaise with project teams on mechanical aspects of products and systems.
- Design bespoke equipment, in line with the defence standards.
- Choose materials, manufacturing processes, and integration methods that best align with the equipment's intended use.
- Collaborate with suppliers and internal departments, offering technical guidance to ensure the product meets its intended purpose and design specifications.
- Provide advice and conduct testing to ensure compliance with Defence and international standards.
- Support Quality and Production teams to ensure that all components and final products adhere to the design specifications.
Essential Experience/Skills/Qualifications:
- Relevant Engineering Qualification at a Level 6 NVQ or Honor's Degree.
- Evidence of formal training on CAD software. (Inventor is preferred).
- Experience of an engineering environment to understand fundamental principles.
- Competent and methodical in using 3D design software (preferably Inventor, though not essential).
- Capable of working collaboratively on multiple projects simultaneously, meeting challenging deadlines in a small team setting.
