Job Description:

As an Art Teacher specializing in SEN, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and adaptive art lessons to students with a range of special educational needs. You will inspire creativity, self-expression, and confidence in our students through the arts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality art lessons that cater to the diverse needs of SEN students.
  • Develop and implement an inclusive art curriculum that is engaging, accessible, and aligned with school standards.
  • Assess, monitor, and report on student progress, providing constructive feedback to support their development.
  • Utilize a variety of teaching methods and resources to cater to different learning styles and abilities.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages creativity, self-expression, and confidence.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and support staff to enhance the overall educational experience for students.
  • Participate in school events, meetings, and professional development opportunities.
  • Maintain a safe and supportive classroom environment, ensuring all health and safety regulations are met.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Relevant degree in Art Education or a related field.
  • Proven experience teaching art to SEN students at the primary or secondary school level.
  • Strong knowledge of SEN teaching strategies and adaptations.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate students.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and collaboration with colleagues.
