CNC Turning Multi-spindle P/S/O/Automation Engineer

Our client is looking for a dynamic CNC Turning Multi-spindle Programmer/Setter/Operator/Automation Engineer to join their team. The successful CNC Turning Multi-spindle Programmer/Setter/Operator/Automation Engineer will program, set and operate multi spindle CNC Lathes, and implement and continually develop automated lights out machining processes. Reporting to the Production Manager, the role of CNC Turning Multi-spindle Programmer/Setter/Operator/Automation Engineer position would suit an experienced machinist with the desire and knowledge to drive automation in a cell unit, with the aim of increasing automation-based capacity across the workshop.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Complete machine set ups in line with company procedures.
  • Comply with component quality requirements and ‘First Off' process.
  • Create Fanuc CNC programs for twin spindle lathes with driven tooling.
  • Liaise with production office regarding manufacturing methods and tooling.
  • Drive lights-out machining and automation advancements in a cell environment.
  • Fully engage with continuous improvement, the 6S ethos and lean manufacturing initiatives.
  • Support all corrective actions, observations & reviews presented by the quality department.
  • Ensure parts are finished and deburred in line with company standards.
  • Uphold company policies as directed by the senior management team.
  • Manage machine maintenance requirements and complete daily log.

Essential Attributes:

  • Extensive CNC turning experience to include; twin spindle and live tooling programming.
  • Great understanding of continuous improvement and lean manufacturing principles.
  • The ability to work automatously and as part of a multi-departmental team.
  • High levels of concentration, organisation and time management.
  • Previous experience of automation and lights out machining.
  • Ability to converse in two-way communication.
  • Pride in your work and working environment.
  • Keen eye and excellent attention to detail.
  • Minimum 3 years Fanuc programming.

This permanent, full-time role with a remuneration bracket of £18.00 to £20.00 per hour depending on experience, also carries the opportunity to develop within the company.
