An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Legal Cashier with law firm accounts experience to join a busy accounts team in London. The role involves handling all aspects of day-to-day cashiering and accounts functions, including checking incoming office and client receipts, monitoring the online banking system, managing client account transactions in line with SRA rules, and handling queries related to client accounts. Other duties include bank reconciliations, billing, and purchase ledger updates.
To be considered for this role, you must have at least 12 months of experience working in a law firm's accounts team and demonstrate solid knowledge of SRA accounts rules. This is a great opportunity for someone with legal accounts experience who is looking to take the next step in their career.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Processing client and office account transactions, including payments, receipts, and transfers
  • Daily bank reconciliations for client and office accounts
  • Monitoring client account balances and ensuring compliance with Solicitors Accounts Rules (SAR)
  • Processing legal aid payments and other disbursements
  • Assisting with month-end and year-end reporting
  • Liaising with fee earners and external parties regarding account queries
  • Assisting with VAT returns and other financial reporting as required

Key Requirements:

  • Previous experience as a Legal Cashier, ideally within a law firm
  • Strong knowledge of Solicitors Accounts Rules (SAR)
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Proficiency in legal accounting software and Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
