Your new role
Southend City Council are seeking to recruit an organisation development consultant to join the organisation development and learning team on a full-time and fixed-term contract basis (12 months). This contract is offered on a hybrid basis, which is a blend of working from the office and remote working.

As an organisation development consultant, you will drive organisational transformation and development initiatives, focusing on enhancing Southend City Council's effectiveness. You will lead the implementation and change management related to the Business World Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, ensuring smooth adoption and integration across the council. You will develop and execute change management plans that maximise employee adoption and usage. You will collaborate with stakeholders to identify and manage change impacts and resistance to include management of the Learning and Development Programmes to embed the change within each of the Council's Directorates.

You will create and deliver communication plans to keep stakeholders informed and engaged throughout all project work.
You will also monitor the effectiveness of OD and change initiatives, using insights to drive continuous improvement.

What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, it is vital that you have a comprehensive understanding of organisation development and change management theories as well as practical application within a professional setting, including knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures. Excellent communication skill is essential for this role as you will be required to prepare and undertake briefings to all levels on a range of subjects. You need to have good understanding and experience of designing and implementing communication strategies.

To be successful in this role, proven experience of project management and programme delivery is essential for this role. It is highly essential that you have strong stakeholder management and partnering skills as you will be liaison with a variety of stakeholders and senior leaders within and outside the Council. Working knowledge of Unit 4 - Business World system or ERP system (Enterprise Resource Planning) would be highly desirable but not essential.

This role will suit an individual who has previously worked as either HR business partner or Change manager or Change consultant or Programme manager etc.

To be considered for this role, you must possess either certification in CIPD (Level 5) or Organisational Development or Change Management, or a related field.
